Έφοδοι της Ρωσικής Αστυνομίας σε Θρησκευτικές Συγκεντρώσεις στο Οριόλ και Κράτηση Δανού Πολίτη

Στις 25 Μαΐου 2017, βαριά οπλισμένοι αστυνομικοί και πράκτορες της Ομοσπονδιακής Υπηρεσίας Ασφάλειας (ΟΥΑ) διέκοψαν μια ειρηνική θρησκευτική συγκέντρωση των Μαρτύρων του Ιεχωβά στο Οριόλ της Ρωσίας. Οι αρχές ανακοίνωσαν ότι πρόκειται να ασκήσουν ποινική δίωξη κατά των Μαρτύρων επειδή, κατά τους ισχυρισμούς τους, οι Μάρτυρες συνεχίζουν τη δράση τους ως εξτρεμιστική οργάνωση. Τον Φεβρουάριο του 2016, η κυβέρνηση διέλυσε την Τοπική Θρησκευτική Οργάνωση (ΤΘΟ) του Οριόλ με την κατηγορία του εξτρεμισμού. Επιπρόσθετα, οι αρχές κατέγραψαν τα στοιχεία όλων όσων παρακολουθούσαν τις θρησκευτικές συγκεντρώσεις, κατέσχεσαν τις προσωπικές ηλεκτρονικές συσκευές τους και αργότερα έκαναν έρευνες στα σπίτια των Μαρτύρων στο Οριόλ.

 

Οι αρχές οδήγησαν τους άντρες της εκκλησίας του Οριόλ στα γραφεία της ΟΥΑ και έχουν θέσει υπό κράτηση έναν Δανό πολίτη, τον Ντένις Κρίστενσεν, ο οποίος είναι πρεσβύτερος της εκκλησίας. Ο εισαγγελέας απηύθυνε επείγον αίτημα στο Περιφερειακό Δικαστήριο Σοβιέτσκι, ζητώντας την προφυλάκιση του κ. Κρίστενσεν προκειμένου να δώσει χρόνο στην ΟΥΑ για να συγκεντρώσει στοιχεία και να βρει μάρτυρες που θα καταθέσουν στην υπόθεση. Η Δικαστής Σβετλάνα Ναούμοβα έκανε δεκτό το αίτημα, δίνοντας εντολή να προφυλακιστεί ο κ. Κρίστενσεν για δύο μήνες. Σήμερα, θα κατατεθεί προσφυγή κατά της εντολής αυτής. Αν ο κ. Κρίστενσεν καταδικαστεί, κινδυνεύει με φυλάκιση έξι έως δέκα ετών με βάση το Άρθρο 282.2, μέρος 1, του Ποινικού Κώδικα.

Η εκκλησία των Μαρτύρων του Ιεχωβά στο Οριόλ διεξήγε θρησκευτικές συγκεντρώσεις ως ομάδα πιστών—δεν αποτελεί νομική οντότητα. Αυτή η ενέργεια των ρωσικών αρχών δείχνει ότι στοχοποιούν τη λατρεία των Μαρτύρων, όχι απλώς τις νομικές τους δομές (ΤΘΟ). Κάτι παρόμοιο συνέβη στους Μάρτυρες στο Ταγκανρόγκ, όπου οι αρχές διέλυσαν πρώτα την ΤΘΟ και κατόπιν άσκησαν ποινικές διώξεις για εξτρεμισμό εναντίον 16 μελών της εκκλησίας επειδή συνέχισαν να συναθροίζονται ειρηνικά για λατρεία. Τον Νοέμβριο του 2015, και οι 16 καταδικάστηκαν, αλλά οι ποινές και τα πρόστιμα που τους επιβλήθηκαν έχουν ανασταλεί. Η υπόθεσή τους εξετάζεται επί του παρόντος στο Ευρωπαϊκό Δικαστήριο των Δικαιωμάτων του Ανθρώπου.
