In our Congregation Bible Study this week, we will be considering a most interesting section (on p146 & 147 of "God's Kingdom Rules") entitled:

"Noteworthy High Court Victories that Advanced Kingdom Preaching"
One of the cases highlighted is that of "Watchtower Bible & Tract Society v Village of Stratton, Ohio (2002)"... a case most of us will remember quite well.
It was a very important case because the Stratton lawyers had won lengthly battles in both the Federal Trial and Appeals Courts insisting that Jehovah's Witnesses must obtain a permit in order to engage in house to house activity. The case went all the way to the United States Supreme Court and if the justices had agreed with the decisions of the lower courts, the preaching work of Jehovah's Witnesses would have been severely curtailed in the United States as hundreds of other munipalities were waiting in the wings with similar ordinances.
