Louis Kurcsics Sr., 79, Penn Run, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017, at his residence.

The son of Frank and Mary (Bukics) Kurcsics, he was born Nov. 1, 1937, in Homer City.

Big Lou loved his family, his wife of nearly 60 years and his two children, little Lou and Deb.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and planting a garden.

Lou was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 2002 and loved attending and spending time with his dear friends in Indiana. He was a big-hearted man that will truly be missed and fondly remembered.

Surviving are his wife, Clara Jean (Merkel) Kurcsics; children Louis (Leah) Kurcsics Jr., Franklin; and Debra Kurcsics, Kent, Ohio; brothers John Henry Kurcsics, Elyria, Ohio; and Joseph Sabo, Newton Falls, Ohio; sisters-in-law Charlotte Kurcsics, Homer City, and Mary Sabo, both of Newton Falls, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Lou in death were his parents; brothers Frank and Jerry Kurcsics and Steve Sabo; and sisters Mary, Olga, Beatrice and Janet.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall, 450 East Pike, Indiana.

The family would like to offer their thanks to Indiana VNA/Hospice and Palliative Care for their care and kindness.
