Annie Ruth Brown Goins, 75, wife of James Henry Goins, died on Monday, June 26, 2017, at a local nursing facility.

Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Marion Moise Brown Sr. and Myrtle Belle Holcomb Brown. She was member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses-East Congregation, where she was dedicated to her Christian studies.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years; seven children, Joyce Osborne of Sumter, Judy Goins of Lexington, Cindy Ward (Terry) of Lynchburg, Wanda Dozier (Mike) of Columbia, Harold Goins (Debbie) of Myrtle Beach, Kenneth Goins of Lake City and Linda Schultz (Carl) of Florence; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carrie Ann Dove (Ronnie) of Columbia and Marie Baker of Sumter; and two brothers, Ronald Brown (Donna) and Donald Brown (Nancy), both of Sumter.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Goins; a brother, Marion Brown Jr.; and a sister, Linda Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with Stephen Vose officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Watchtower Society, c/o Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 99 Oswego Highway, Sumter, SC 29150.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
