Lucille Ann Lowe

Lucille Ann Lowe, 83, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City on July 6, 2017.

“Lucy” was born Aug. 10, 1933 in Overbrook, Kan., to Frederick and Ada (Bird) Ward. She was preceded in death by brothers Roy, Raymond, Louis and Larry, as well as sisters Mary and Opal.

She was the baby of the family and dearly loved her siblings. Her family moved to Lawrence, Kan., in 1937 where Lucille married, raised her family and worked for many years.

She relocated to Fort Scott 25 years ago to be near her brother Larry and wife Arlene.

Lucille was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and her life was surrounded by caring and loving friends from her congregation.

She dearly loved animals, making people laugh and the company of her many friends and family.

She is survived by daughters, Brenda Rhoades of Lawrence and Vicky Lamb of Prairie Village, Kan.; granddaughters Kim Wampler of Lawrence and Jessica Lamb of Prairie Village; great-grandchildren Whitney Pringle, Kylie Robson and Travis Wampler; five great-great-grandchildren, Dakota, Payton, Brantley, Gunner and Findley; niece Linda Groninger of Lawrence; nephew Wayne Ward of Topeka; two great nieces Tawna Evans, Casper, Wyo., and Sharil Carpenter, Oskaloosa, Kan.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. July 27 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 1280 245th St., Fort Scott.
