ABBEVILLE -- Dorothy Young Greene, 90, resident of 303 Hwy. 71, widow of Charles William “Bill” Greene passed away July 23, 2017 at her home.

Born in Abbeville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charles Issac Young and Fannie Edmunds Young Johnson.

Dorothy was a graduate of Anderson Nursing Hospital College. She worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Rosenberg and was a nurse for over 50 years. Dorothy was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Kidd (Randall) of Abbeville, SC; three grandchildren, David Kidd (Jennifer), Julie Chiles (Neil) and Stephanie Hill; and two great-grandchildren Khloe Kidd and Brelen Chiles.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Hill; a granddaughter, Katrina Hill; and sisters, Doris Young (her twin), Onie Ware and Mary Thompson.

A Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be conducted Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, with Mr. Anthony Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 Saturday afternoon at the church.

Memorials in memory of Dorothy may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 283 Hwy. 71, Abbeville, SC 29620. The family is at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Randall Kidd, 303 Hwy. 71, Abbeville, SC 29620.
