Sarah Alice Wood Andes, 78, formerly of Crozet, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017, in Amherst, at the home of her daughter. Born on August 13, 1939, in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Herbert L. and Hattie Sprouse Wood and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Margie Marsh and Mary Wood. Mrs. Andes was a retired bus driver with the City of Charlottesville with twenty-five years of service. She was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mrs. Andes is survived by two daughters, Lavonne S. Mawyer and husband, Darryl, of Amherst, and Sandra A. Wood of Stockdale, Tex.; two sons, Herbert Wayne Andes of Crozet, and Charles Andes of Charlottesville; a brother, David Wood and wife, Betty, of Louisa; five grandchildren, Miles Mawyer, Paul Mawyer and wife, Trish, Sheldon Morris and wife, April, Elizabeth Hipes and husband, Joe, and Amy Aldape and husband, Matt; and five great-grandchildren, Erica, Kaylee, Hannah, Joe, and Hayden.
