Betty Lavern Stone, 75, of Columbia, passed away at Boone Hospital on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 14750 N. Route U, Hallsville, with Brother Emmet Calvert officiating.

Betty was born to Fredia Nadine Cook and Gene Hayes on March 21, 1942 in Sturgeon.

Betty worked in the medical field as a caregiver in homes, hospitals and nursing facilities. She became a dedicated, baptized Witness for Jehovah on Feb.20, 1993.

Betty leaves to mourn her passing a son, Roger Eugene Boone of Virginia Beach, Va; and daughter, Kennetta Logan of Fresno, Calif. She is also survived by two grandsons, Aaron Johnson of Fresno, Calif. and Marcus Eugene Boone of San Jose, Calif.; two sisters, Loretta J. Morris of Salinas, Calif. and Mable L. Gorham and husband, James, of Geronimo, Okla., brother, Andrew V. Moore and wife, Brigette of Kansas City; along with a special niece and spiritual sister, Debra Y. Thomas of Raytown; as well as a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
