William (Bill) Kesser

William (Bill) Kesser, 86, died peacefully at the Lake District Hospital on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017; he was surrounded by his close friends and family.

Bill was born to Arthur and Harriet (Groves) Kesser in Long Beach, Calif. on Dec. 23, 1930. Bill was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 10, 1940 in his hometown. He spent most of his life helping others to learn Bible truths. Bill believed in the hope of the resurrection and living forever on a paradise earth as foretold in the Bible and Psalms 37:11,29 and Revelations 21:34.

In the 1970’s William moved to Rohnert Park, Calif. where he met his loving wife Diana (Webon) Kesser of 22 years.

and go camping. He enjoyed animals and spending time with his family and friends. Bill loved to eat. He called eating a “recreation”. In his younger years he enjoyed playing the violin. He had a good sense of humor and loved people. He lived a full life with many friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Kesser, who passed in 1963 at the age of 3 and his stepdaughter Cindy (Elson) Corcoran, who passed in 2013.  

He is survived by his wife Diana, sons, Jonathan Kesser of Santa Rosa, Calif. and James Kesser of Rohnert Park, Calif.; daughters, Cheri (Kesser) Garcia of Fresno, Calif. and Jennifer Kesser of Rohnert Park, Calif.; stepchildren, Michael Elson of Sebastopol, Calif., Levi Ruiz of Portland, Jessica (Ruiz) Phillips of Leavenworth, Kan. and Terrie Weynau of Chico, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. followed by a buffet style meal for friends and family at the Thomas Creek Grange located at 21547 New Idaho Rd., Lakeview.
