Barbara Goodwin passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017. She was born Aug. 28, 1935, in North Carolina and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Hallen Cox and David Cox of Tarboro, N.C. She is also survived by her late husband’s family, mother-in-law, Violet Goodwin; sister-in-law, Kathleen Dixon and nephew Jeremy Diaz of Fort Smith; sister-in-law, Bobbi Goodwin and brother-in-law, Garry Goodwin of Ohio; and sister-in-law, Georgia Goodwin and brother-in-law, Joseph Goodwin of Russellville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn and George Hallen Sr.; her sister, Elizabeth Duncan; and her brother, George Hallen Jr., all from North Carolina. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, William M. Goodwin of Fort Smith.

Barbara is one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and her memorial service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 4711 Kelly Highway in Fort Smith. Service is open to the public; no collection is ever taken. Cremation is under the direction of Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
