A Jehovah’s Witness Bride wore a Simple Gown To Her White Wedding and the photo has sparked serious debate online.

The wedding day itÂ’s always one of the happiest day of a normal lady, but for this Jehovah witness guy, things doesnÂ’t appear to be normal.

Could her choice for a simple gown have to do with Jehovah Witnesses doctrine?, while we search for the answer, read what a facebook user who shared the story said

”And someone just did what I’ve always imagined! Now i guess we have demystified white wedding. I love this! I wish I was there at the wedding.” ladies can you wear this to your white wedding? Drop your comments

THESE ARE PEOPLE I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW!

Just run down to the Justice of the Peace at the Courthouse and get married. :-)

That is exactly what Susan and I did when we got married !

As retired engineer and math teacher we are not into impressing anyone.  We got simple, silver wedding bands that cost less than $200, of which we are very proud to wear.

Parties are nice, and I do go to parties ... including my two son's weddings at Kingdom Halls, but people that NEED parties are usually painfully shallow and self-centered ... caring more about others' opinions than what is right or wrong according to a persons NATURAL conscience.

Peer pressure ruins a person, both inside and outside of the Truth, in my not-so-humble opinion.

Nothing wrong with this picture....why follow the traditions of men? Running down to the JP is NOT the same as getting married in the Hall and having a brother marring them and getting Jehovah's blessing. Do not be judging our brothers.

If people want to make it a grand party, and can afford it, and want to do it ... fine.  There is nothing to judge them for.

I had a wedding in a Kingdom Hall many years ago also  ... My eldest son had a Wedding at a Kingdom Hall and a Reception that staggered my perception, but then again, I think an oath between a man and a woman is enough.  I was born in an entirely wrong epoch, and am a Barbarian by nature.

Does it mean that if a JW brother and sister don't get married at a Kingdom Hall and don't have a brother giving a public talk on the stage  for them and other they don't get Jehovah's blessing?

I  don't think so.

The best gift Jehovah gives is free will. I was married in a blush pink gown 25 yrs ago. The talk was given by an elder (my father) at a local country club where we also had the reception. Since 3 different congregations were invited, having it at the Hall wasn't practical. We still managed to have an inexpensive happy occasion. Point is, Jehovah is the creator of marriage and does deserve to be involved, but no one should be stumbled if the bride doesn't wear a white pricy dress or they decide to move the venue to a larger location.

@runtifus A couple who chooses a civil ceremony should also not be made to feel bad in any way.

Elders are specifically told NOT to offer their personal opinions.  This would also qualify as an area of personal choice.

The marriage of @James Thomas Rook Jr. Is as valid as someone who has 400 in attendance at an Assembly Hall or Branch.

I once performed a wedding at a Branch office with about 300 attending. A very elegant wedding and reception.

I first had to become licensed by the Staten to perform the wedding in the first place.

    • By the way, if you're into stuff like this, you might wanna check out https://thepythagoras.com/. They have some neat articles about ancient civilizations and their contributions to science and math. It’s really interesting how much we owe to these early thinkers.
    • The Dendera Zodiac is such an amazing piece of history. Imagine ancient Egyptians looking up at the same stars we do now and creating this detailed map. It's mind-blowing! So, what do I think about it? I think it's a fascinating blend of art and astronomy. Those ancient folks really knew their stuff. The way they incorporated their gods and mythologies into the constellations is just brilliant. And it's not just about the stars, it’s a glimpse into how they viewed the universe and their place in it.
    • FIFA's collaboration with Algorand represents a significant milestone for blockchain technology. Algorand will serve as the official blockchain platform for FIFA, supporting events such as the FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 2023 and the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022. This partnership is poised to enhance FIFA's digital asset management while boosting Algorand's visibility through advertising and promotional opportunities. On another note, I've been tuning into African football recently. The match between Kanifing East FC and Latrikunda United was unexpectedly impressive. African football often goes underappreciated, yet the skill and enthusiasm in these matches are evident. We can expect even more significant development and excitement in African football with increased attention and support.
