Durwood Harold Crosby, 83, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Highway 79, with Brother Dennis Ott officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Rosemont Cemetery under the direction of LunnÂ’s Colonial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at LunnÂ’s.

A son of the late Edna (Berry) and Guy Crosby, Harold was born on December 12, 1934, in Canada. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and the United States Air Force, where he was a staff sergeant. Harold and Nelda Francis Harrison were married in 1984. Together they raised a large, combined family. Harold was a loving man who was respectful to everyone he met. He had a wonderfully kind heart and believed everyone deserved a second chance. He was a country music singer and owned his own record label, Travelers Enterprises. In 2007 and 2009, Harold was named to the Country Music Main Hall of Fame.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Francis Crosby; children, Randy Pelotte and wife, Rene of Galesbury, IL; Kemo Crosby and wife, Kathy of Wichita Falls; Kevin Crosby of Wasalla, AK; Michael Gomora of Nocona, TX; Candy Kimball of Moore, OK; Tandy Brooks, Juanita Morris, and Brenda Edgett and husband, Leon, all of Wichita Falls; granddaughters whom he raised, Salena Crosby and Kristina Glusick, both of Wichita Falls; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Pete Crosby of Maine; and sister, Bonnie Hensbey of Maine.
