I would like to add one piece of information, without opening a new topic, because we can continue, I guess, the discussion under this topic.
So, I heard first hand how one JW explains to an interested person how the Organization (because of God’s guidance) made a good decision to sell KH. Like, they saw in advance that the halls would be left without visitors, the costs of maintaining empty KH are high and the like.

From that brief explanation, which I overheard, I come to the assumption that mass sales of KH do not presuppose defeat for JW members (all or perhaps most members). For them, this is great news and they accept the reasons why the Organization is selling KH. Of course, I do not know the reasons for selling KH. I can only assume that it is a lack of money, because it was said on JWTV. But that was before the advent of COVID, so they couldn’t have known they would suspend / ban world gatherings of people because of the infection. But JW members, for some reason, came to that conclusion. Since I don’t follow JWTV, maybe some of you have heard it publicly stated that the sale of KH is God’s leadership because of COVID? Or is this explanation only of an internal character, semi-official? Or you have other guessing, ideas, information?

The selling of KHs in the US at least has now been suspended. There was a lot of effort put into getting new appraisals of (perhaps) thousands of KHs, but there will be no additional sales at the moment except those already in progress. Whatever the reasons before, it sounds like this last step is either Covid-related or a serendipitous coincidence, since the Bethel facilities were hoping to open in late summer/early autumn.

You may have suffered from reading too much of Witness, who carries on and on about material things being an “idol” for Jehovah’s People. In fact, they treat Kingdom Halls pretty much like people treat their homes. If they outgrow them due to more family members, they build something bigger. If it outgrows them due to the kids moving out, they downsize. Since (admittedly with some exaggeration) Jehovah’s people can put up and dispose of buildings pretty much live the overall world can put up and take down Coleman tents, as they have plenty of trades people and volunteers, it is less trying for them as it would be for most groups.

In general, where there are circumstances conducive to humility, kingdom interests increase. Where there are circumstances conducive to pride (income and advanced schooling) kingdom interests hold their own or even retreat. In my area, if called upon to account for a Hall being sold, I explain that it is on account of our great growth.

No.

Who can say? It probably varies with the individual. When the timing of events turn out fortuitous, some will think it coincidental and others will credit God for it. Since we are a godly people, I’m sure we will have more crediting God than, say, a group of humanists.

As PSonH is fond of saying, With God all things are possible!

But there is no grapevine consensus that I am aware of.

Quite the contrary. I am now going to use them as you do, to “prove” anything at all.

What we both need to prove, and not to each other, is our faith in God and Christ.

Surely you do believe that, With God all things are possible ?  Because the things that are to take place here on Earth cannot be done by humans.

    • By the way, if you're into stuff like this, you might wanna check out https://thepythagoras.com/. They have some neat articles about ancient civilizations and their contributions to science and math. It’s really interesting how much we owe to these early thinkers.
    • The Dendera Zodiac is such an amazing piece of history. Imagine ancient Egyptians looking up at the same stars we do now and creating this detailed map. It's mind-blowing! So, what do I think about it? I think it's a fascinating blend of art and astronomy. Those ancient folks really knew their stuff. The way they incorporated their gods and mythologies into the constellations is just brilliant. And it's not just about the stars, it’s a glimpse into how they viewed the universe and their place in it.

Algorand will serve as the official blockchain platform for FIFA, supporting events such as the FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 2023 and the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022. This partnership is poised to enhance FIFA's digital asset management while boosting Algorand's visibility through advertising and promotional opportunities. On another note, I've been tuning into African football recently. The match between Kanifing East FC and Latrikunda United was unexpectedly impressive. African football often goes underappreciated, yet the skill and enthusiasm in these matches are evident. We can expect even more significant development and excitement in African football with increased attention and support.
